Temples of Tamil Nadu, the lush and tropical Kerala , the splendor of the Dravidian Architecture in the temples of Karnataka.   • Day 01: Arrival Chennai ( Madras )

    Departure from home country with a scheduled flight. Upon arrival to India, formalities at Airport and meeting with our representative at Airport. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay.
  • Day 02: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Chennai

    After breakfast visit the city of Chennai: the church of St. Thomas and the Bronze Museum. Drive along the marina beach. In the afternoon, excursion to Kanchipuram (70 km. 1 hour)- ancient capital of the Pallavas, famous as a city of 1000 temples that still has 124 shrines. Visit of ancient temples of Kailashanatha and Ekanbaranathar. Visit silk weaving factory. Return to Chennai and Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 03: Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (220 km. 5 hours)

    After Breakfast at the hotel, departure to Pondicherry by private car. Enroute stop at Mahabalipuram (90 km. 1 , 30 minutes) , to visit the 7th-century Shore temple which is surrounded by lush gardens. Later visit the 7th- century Five Rathas. These temples are considered as the very first example of the Hindu temple architecture. Then Continue to Pondicherry. Afternoon, visit to the ashram of Sri Aurobindo, founded in 1926 by Sri Aurobindo and a French woman known as ” The Mother”. The serene world of distinct spiritual vibration and thus renowned as Sacred Land. Inside you can visit their graves. It continues with a visit to the French School of the Far East. Evening walk in the busy market of Pondicherry. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 04: Pondicherry – Chidambram – Swamimalai – Tanjore (210 km. 5 hours)

    After breakfast drive to Tanjore, en-route visit Chidambaram and Swamimalai. (175 Kms / 04 Hrs) – The driving time does not include the stoppage a time at Chidambaram and Swamimalai. At Chidambaram visit Nataraja Temple a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the enthralling form of the Cosmic Dancer Nataraja. The peculiarity of the temple is its presiding deity – the Akasha Lingam or the ether lingam. The four tall entranceways have carvings of the famous South Indian dance, Bharatanatyam. Afternoon proceed to Tanjore, en-route visit Darasuram and Swamimalai Darasuram temple (built in memory of the White elephant – AIRAVATH from the gods family), the temple has its original name as “Airavatheshwar temple”. Visit the sculpture worship at Swamimalai to see how the craftsmen did their job through the traditional way of casting a sculpture. Later proceed to Tanjore and on arrival transfer to hotel.
  • Day 05: Tanjore – Trichy – Tanjore

    Breakfast at hotel and visit of Brideshwarar Shiva Temple at Tanjore, built by King Raja Rajan from the year 985 AD – 1010 AD. This is one of the superb temple architects of the Chola dynasty. Later visit Raja Rajan art gallery which houses a precious collection of bronze of the Chola dynasty. Afternoon excursion to Trichy to visit the temple town of Srirangam . Arrive and visit Srirangam Vishnu temple. It has 21 gopurmas (towers); one of the gopurma is 73 meters, highest in India. Return to Tanjore for overnight stay at the hotel.
  • Day 06: Tanjore – Madurai (160 km. 5 hours)

    After breakfast at hotel checkout and proceed to Madurai (03 hours 30 mnts drive). Enroute visit coir making, pot making factories in the villages. On arrival at Madurai checkin at hotel. After lunch proceed on a guided tour of Madurai visiting The Meenakshi temple, Palace of tirumalai nayak, Gandhi museum. Return to hotel for dinner. After dinner walk through the busy bazaars of Madurai and reach Meenakshi temple in time to visit the night ceremony. Overnite at hotel.
  • Day 07: Madurai – Periyar (145 km. 4 hours )

    Breakfast at hotel and depart for Periyar. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel and check in. After lunch proceed to periyar wild life sanctuary for game viewing by boat on lake Periyar. This sanctuary is home to bisons, antelopes, sambar deers, wild boars, langoor monkeys, a variety of birds, 750 elephants and estimated 35 tigers. You must be really lucky to spot the tigers, otherwise you can see elephants and other animals. Return to hotel and Overnight at hotel in periyar.
  • Day 08: Periyar – Kumarakom (100 km. 3 hours)

    Breakfast at your hotel and transfer to Kumarakom , in the heart of the backwaters . Along the way, a brief tour of spice plantation and driving through the gardens of Tea, Coffee and cocoa. In the afternoon, excursion with the Houseboat in the backwaters , the series of canals , rivers and natural lakes that cross the region of Kerala like a spider web. Overnite at hotel in Kumarakom.
  • Day 09: Kumarakom – Cochin (65 km. 1:30 minutes)

    After breakfast at hotel departure by boat to allepey exploring the backwater life of Kerala cruising through the narrow canals. Arrive allepey and transfer by surface to Cochin. On arrival checkin at hotel. Overnite at hotel in Cochin.
  • Day 10: Cochin

    After breakfast in the morning, visit the most cosmopolitan city in South India : the Chinese nets , the Mattancherry Dutch Palace , the church of San Francesco which houses the tombstone of Vasco de Gama , the synagogue in the Jewish Quarter and the antique street . In the afternoon dance performance – Kathkali theater. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 11: Cochin – Bangalore – Mysore

    Breakfast in hotel and departure with flight to Bangalore. On arrival proceed to Mysore (140 km. Approximately 3 hours), stop and visit the famous temple of Somnathpur , a masterpiece of inlaid stone. Afternoon Mysore Palace, residence of the Maharajas. The current building, and Indian style buckwheat, was built after the destruction of the previous building following a devastating fire . The interior is beautifully decorated with mirrors, paintings and stained glass, the floors are mosaic and doors are finely carved. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 12: Mysore – Hassan (120 km. 3 hours)

    Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Hassan. Upon arrival transfer to hotel, afternoon excursion to visit the temples of Belur and Halebid , splendid examples of architectural star of the Hoysala dynasty . Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 13: Hassan – Sravanabelgola – Hassan

    After breakfast excursion to Sravanabelgola to visit the Jain temple located on an imposing hill that houses the gigantic monolithic statue of Bahubali. This is the oldest and most important jain pilgimage centres in india and the site of the huge 17 metres high naked statue of Gomatesvara. Back to Hassan. Overnight at hotel .
  • Day 14: Hassan – Bangalore – Airport (120 km. 3 hours)

    Transfer to Bangalore. Afternoon short tour of the city . Dinner at the restaurant located at the hotel taken in the airport. No overnight. Transfer to the international airport.
