A tour of the historical places of Oman is an excellent way to learn about the country's past and gain a deeper appreciation for its traditions and customs. Your tour would start in Muscat with a visit to all the major attractions of the city including Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, which is one of the largest mosques in the world. Then you will be moving to the interior parts of the country famous for its Geographical Wonders, you would pass through NIZWA - Oman's cultural capital, WAHIBA - Wahiba sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand. WADI BANI KHALID - the most beautiful wadis in Oman, and the ship building city of SUR. The Tour would end in Muscat with a visit of BIMAH SINKHOLE - A spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. With its natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality, Oman has something for everyone.

Day 1

Arrival Muscat

You will arrive at the Muscat International Airport. Upon your arrival you proceed straight to the Immigration. Immigration & customs are quick & simple. Upon arrival at the General arrival lounge you will be met by our MTA representative who will assist you to the comforts of our vehicle to drive you the hotel. Overnight at Muscat Hotel.

Day 2

Half Day Muscat City Tour

Morning, you will be met at the hotel for a half day City Tour. The tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque one of the largest mosques in the Middle East. Visit Bait Al Zubair Museum. You will have photo stops at the residence of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. Evening you will be strolling through Muttrah Souq, where you will be bargaining for handicrafts and silver items. Overnight Muscat Hotel.

 

Note: The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat can be visited between 0800 – 1100 hrs on working days from Saturdays to Thursdays and it remains closed on Friday and public holidays

Day 3

Nizwa – Jabreen- Bahla

Today you will have full day visit of the historic town of Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital. You proceed to Jabrin castle built in 17th century is one of the finest of its kind. Its magnificent plasterwork, the carved doors and the painted wooden beams of the ceilings makes this castle amazingly different. Thereafter continue to Bahla, one of the oldest small towns of Oman and in the 12th century the capital of the tribe living in the region. As the monumental fort is closed for renovation only a photo stop is planned. Bahla is also famous for its pottery. Overnight at Nizwa Hotel.

Day 4

Nizwa – Wahiba

Morning drive to Wahiba sands, via Birkat A Mauz and Ibra. Wahiba sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographer’s delight. After some exciting sand dune driving which offers excellent thrills and chills for all. Evening watch spectacular sunset from top of the dunes. BBQ dinner and overnight at Wahiba Sands.

Day 5

WAHIBA – SUR

Your first destination is Wadi Bani Khalid – an oasis spot in the middle of the barren and dry mountains. It is one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman and its pools with clear deep blue water give you an opportunity to take a refreshing dip. Enjoy the ambiance of the Wadi. Then drive to you visit fishing town of Sur, the eastern most town on the Arabian Peninsula, where until recently the famous Omani Dhows were built. Dhow building in Sur dates back centuries and is closely linked with the maritime heritage of Oman. From Sur too, in the old days, the Omanis were sailing the seas, mainly to India. After an early dinner you will visit the turtle sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz, where at night the Green Turtles, after a journey of thousands of kilometers will come ashore to lay their eggs. You then return to Hotel for the overnight Ras Al Hadd.

Day 6

SUR –QALHAT- BIMAH SINKH HOTEL-MUSCAT.

Morning after Breakfast first visit ruins of Bibi Miriam's Tomb can be seen at the village of Qalhat on coastal road to Muscat (Photo stop Only). Our next stop is the Bimah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. On clear sunny days while driving along the coast one might chance to see sharks in the deep blue water or fleet footed Gazelle sprint across the landscape. Retun to Muscat, Overnight in Muscat Hotel

DEPARTURE TRANSFER

Departure transfers to Airport to connect the flight back home.
